In the spring and summer, running 6 miles through Tampa's Flatwoods Park is an exhilarating way to experience the natural beauty of Florida's
wilderness while staying active. This expansive park boasts over 7,000 acres of stunning scenery, including lush forests, wetlands, and sprawling meadows.
Starting your run from the nearby Home Depot lot to the park's entrance, you will embark on a journey that takes you through winding trails, serene lakes,
and peaceful woods. As you run, you will encounter a diverse range of flora and fauna, from towering oak trees to colorful wildflowers and an array of bird species.
The flat terrain of the park allows you to maintain a consistent pace, making it an excellent choice for runners of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned athlete
or a beginner looking for a challenge, running 6 miles through Flatwoods Park is a rewarding and invigorating experience that showcases the stunning natural beauty of Tampa's wilderness.
In the autumn and winter, when the sun sets early and the park closes, we start at the same lot and run 6 miles through the beautiful homes and landscaping of Hunters Green.
The finish line is where we started, in the lot of Home Depot. The group will wait for everyone there before heading to a nearby place for grub, cheers, & beers!
